95/100
The enveloping nose of ripe mirabelle, peach and fresh ginger sucks you into this very succulent and impeccably balanced Austrian dry riesling. Moderate acidity in this context, but enough to drive the long crushed-rock finish that’s wonderfully silky.

Medium Green-Yellow, with silver reflections. Subtle aromas of meadow herbs, delicate notes of yellow stone fruit, hints of linden blossoms, and a touch of dark minerality. Juicy and elegant, with a subtle sweetness of extract evoking apricot and yellow apple, balanced by a well-integrated acidity. The finish has a hint of lime, indicating promising potential for aging.

The 2021 Ried Pfeningberg 1ÖTW Kremstal Riesling has a ripe, very intense and aromatic nose with stony and freshly cut grass aromas and concentrated peach fruit. Slightly flinty. Elegant and juicy on the palate, there is plenty of salinity and piquancy that carries through to the finish, which is dense and aromatic but, above all, grippy and saline. This has good, stimulating astringency in the finish.
