Falstaff
96/100
Bright, medium green-yellow, silver reflections. Subtle floral honey, hints of pineapple, delicate notes of herbs and dried pears. Juicy, dense, fine yellow fruit nuances, passion fruit on the finish, good persistence, multifaceted acidity, complex and elegant, a well-balanced companion for food.
94/100
A very rich and tropical gruner veltliner with stacks of exotic-fruit (mangosteen!) and floral aromas. Lush and cream,y with just enough acidity to balance all the extravagance. Long, succulent and silky finish.

The 2021 Ried Ehrenfels 1ÖTW Grüner Veltliner opens with a clear, cool, dense and spicy bouquet with ripe, concentrated and fleshy fruit and crystalline-stony but also leafy notes. It is comparatively plump and soft on the palate, but crystalline and elegant in its ripe tartness, which is spicy only on the finish. It displays fine tannins and bitterness on the finish. This is an intensely aromatic and fruity Veltliner, but because of the ripe acidity and the alcohol, the wine shows an almost creamy texture. This went through malolactic fermentation.
