"The 2011 Historia Familiae is a limited edition wine meant to celebrate the 20 years that Francesco Ricasoli has acted as head of the Barone Ricasoli estate, and to celebrate his long family winemaking legacy. This wine is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Petit Verdot sourced from various vineyard sites owned by the family. This is a stunning wine with enormous depth and complexity. The bouquet presents dark fruit layers backed by spice, Mediterranean herb and tobacco. The finish is generous and long in terms of persistency. This is a beautiful wine that should age gracefully over the next decade."
