Fontodi Flaccianello 3-stk kollektionskasse
For første gang nogensinde er det lykkedes os at få tigget os til en lille ekstra tildeling af Fontodis episke topvin, Flaccianello Della Pieve. Vi ved ikke præcis, hvorfor vi havde heldet med os i år, men vi gætter på, at en importør på den anden side af Atlanten har fået beskåret sin tildeling.
Vi plejer at sælge Flaccianello i en kollektions-kasse sammen med fem andre vine. Takket være den ekstra tildeling, kan vi tillade os at lave en kasse med en flaske Flaccianello og blot to andre vine:
1 flaske 2020 Flaccianello della Pieve
Flaccianello fra Fontodi er en af Italiens mest ikoniske Sangiovese-vine. De producerede den på 100% Sangiovese, før det var tilladt i Chianti Classico, og derfor går den under appellationen IGT Toscana. Fontodi vidste, at Sangiovese-druens potentiale blev realiseret bedst ved at stå alene i vinen, og derfor tøvede de ikke med at satse – og det har i den grad belønnet sig, for i dag er vinen en af Italiens mest efterspurgte og bedst anmeldte. Flaccianello della Pieve er ekstremt koncentreret, rig og fyldig rødvin med en kolossal kompleksitet. Kan både nydes nu og tre årtier frem. 97 point James Suckling.

Rig og generøs enkeltmarks Gran Selezione Chianti. Vigna Del Sorbo-marken besidder et helt enestående terroir, hvor alt fra markens eksponering, jordbundens indhold og stokkenes alder går op i en højere enhed. Få steder kan Fontodi høste så gode druer, som de kan lige her. Enormt lagringspotentiale. 96 point Robert Parker.

Fontodis flagskibsvin, der har en vanvittig kvalitet for en ”normal” Chianti Classico. Ligesom deres topvin Flaccianello er den på 100% Sangiovese, og den tilgang og filosofi omkring vinproduktion der førte til det mesterværk, fornemmer man tydeligt her. Fyldig, helstøbt og perfekt til bistecca fiorentina. 95 point Vert de Vin.

"The 2020 Flaccianello della Pieve is the full package. This point is clear when you taste all the other wines in the Fontodi portfolio and conclude with this bottle. This organic Sangiovese shows beautiful intensity and remains balanced throughout with dark fruit, crushed stone, spice and wild rose. It borrows themes of elegance, depth and ripeness played across this vintage. The wine wraps smoothly over the palate with substantial fruit weight and sweet tannins. This warm-vintage expression can be aged or enjoyed straight out of the gate."

"The 2020 Flaccianello della Pieve is a blend of Fontodi's vineyards, mostly three main vineyards planted on sites with very dense, heavy rocks. Dark, pliant and inviting, the 2020 is so expressive today. Black cherry, plum, spice, lavender, licorice and mocha are seamless in the glass. The 2020 is a fine Flaccianello with a bright future. Most of this blend is sourced from three parcels in upper hillside vineyards close to town center. The 2020 spent a year and a half in barrique (40% new) and six months in cask."

Giovanni Manetti har med vingården Fontodi haft afgørende betydning for, hvordan man tilgår Chianti-vine i dag. Det var ham, som i 1980'erne understregede Sangiovese-druens potentiale i området, og det var ham, som blev bannerfører for en omlægning til bæredygtigt landbrug.
